Blessed Soul
Tonight, I was in a car accident. Mind you, this was the third accident in 2 1/2 years, but I’m very thankful to be alive right now.
I was on my way back to school driving in the third lane. It snowed earlier, so I started off driving slow until I saw clear pavement. Then, I started driving at regular highway speed. I was thinking to myself that I need to get over in the next lane because I rarely drive in the third lane unless I’m passing somebody.
Once I try to get over, I hit some snow and ice, and started veering over to the median. I tried my hardest to steer my car away from the median. After a major weaving, I slammed into the median with my entire front end, did a 360, and it again with my right side. My car bounced off the median, did tow more 360s across three lanes of traffic until I was able to finally stop the car. Once I saw oncoming traffic coming and I was facing them, somehow I was able to turn around and pull over on the right shoulder in the nick of time.
Of course, I was shook up to no end, and it took me a minute to get myself together. I’m very blessed that I wasn’t killed or someone else wasn’t hurt. I’m also blessed to have body damage (what I could see so far) on the car and not have it totaled.
I truly thank God for still being here because I slammed into that median doing almost 80.
I know it’s ironic to say that life is short when it’s the longest thing you can do, but when you’re in a serious situation like that, you see how short life really is.
